Blender is quickly picking up new amazing features, so we’re guessing it’s not a bad time to check out what this tool can do. If you’re interested in VFX especially, do check out this short video tutorial by Iago Mota. It’s just 6 minutes, but it’s really good structured and it presents a bunch of great opportunities.

The video details the production of a smoke particle simulation. Everything is done in Blender with glow effect and color correction added in After Effects. There’s one drawback though – the shading process is not explained in this video.

You can download the whole scene for Blender here and don’t forget to grab the material as well.

Blender can do some powerful stuff with VFX. Just check out this little project by Luke Hayne!
