Using Blender To Make Western Short's Credits Animation

"Adobe, you're dead to me."

While Blender is primarily recognized as a 3D creation suite, it offers much more than 3D modeling and animation, with a versatility that makes it a popular choice for various forms of dynamic visual content. In addition to being free and open-source, Blender's Geometry Nodes enable the creation of many complex shapes and animations, which used to be only possible with software like After Effects.

Matt Tkocz offered a fun behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of credits animation for the comedy western short film DANCE!, which was produced using Blender. The artist noted that, in his experience, this approach to motion graphics is superior to doing precomposing in After Effects. Watch the film below:
