Adobe has launched Substance 3D Viewer, a new desktop app that seamlessly integrates 3D content into traditional design workflows.
Adobe launched Substance 3D Viewer, a new standalone desktop app for viewing and editing 3D files. It works with Photoshop, enabling you to seamlessly add 3D models in common formats like OBJ, FBX, or USD to your 2D Photoshop designs as editable Smart Objects, bringing 3D content into your traditional design workflows seamlessly.
Created for graphic designers, Substance 3D Viewer simplifies 3D workflows by allowing you to open, view, and work with 3D models by adjusting the camera angle, changing the lighting, and even editing the materials. It's also currently free in beta for anyone with an Adobe Creative Cloud account but can only be used with the latest beta build of Photoshop.

To use it with Photoshop, simply drag and drop a 3D model into your Photoshop canvas to open and view it as a new Smart Object in your Photoshop design. From there, you can iterate on the position, size, and light of your 3D model in the Substance 3D Viewer app and send the updates back to your Photoshop design.
