Upcoming Off-Road Simulator TrophyRC Receives New Footage

The developer also showed the incredible capability of controlling the vehicle using an RC transmitter connected to the PC.

Reddit user Royal_War1822, also known as Eugene Hatskevich, who is the indie developer behind the upcoming off-road simulator TrophyRC, has showcased a fun demo from the game. This demo was created in UE5.2 using the default Chaos Vehicles engine:

The first half is how the RC car moves in a water area, with ripples created as it moves forward, looking pretty realistic. Players will be able to switch between perspectives: a third-person perspective that allows you to see the overall environment and surroundings or a first-person perspective that makes you the real driver of the vehicle. When driving under a world-size car or through a tunnel, the real world becomes huge, as you are a miniature now.

The developer reveals that the video’s sound is authentic servo motor audio that they recorded from their own car; no wonder it sounds supernatural when the RC car speeds up or gains momentum. Hatskevich shared that they have been working on the project for almost a year now.

Earlier this month, the developer showed the incredible capability of controlling the vehicle using an RC transmitter connected to the PC: The trigger controls the throttle, and the steering is managed by the wheel located on the side.

Each time Hatskevich shares in-game footage, it gathers a lot of attention — the game has had over 10k wishlists on Steam now. As the anticipation accumulated, some fans contributed ideas to the developer. For example, a map editor that allows players to create their own levels with various terrains sounds like a great idea and a lot of fun; some also suggest more camera angles, like one that shows the vehicle from the remote holder’s perspective.

TrophyRC doesn’t have a release window yet, but if you’d like to get your hands on it, there is a demo available on itch.io for you to try. Also, don’t hesitate to follow the developer on Twitter or join the game’s Discord channel to follow up on the game’s development.
