Maximilien Vert, a Senior Technical Artist at Adobe Substance 3D and a renowned expert on all things digital leaves, continues the series of unbeleafable 3D animations with a new outstanding project that will leaf you in awe.
Similar to the author's previous artwork, the new timelapse animation meticulously portrays the gradual decay of a maple leaf after it falls from a tree. To create the sequence, the artist utilized his regular array of software, leveraging Substance 3D Designer to create the animated texture, Houdini for setting up the vellum simulation for the mesh, and Blender Cycles for rendering.

Earlier, Maximilien also utilized the same combination of 3D software to create a highly-realistic animation, depicting a tropical plant leaf covered with raindrops:
