The artist utilized ZBrush, Unreal Engine 5, and XGen to create the model.
Have a look at "Serious Link," a darker, more somber 3D version of The Legend of Zelda's timeless protagonist, imagined by 3D Character Artist and Mentor, Ankit Garg.
Depicting the courageous adventurer in a style reminiscent of Dark Souls-like games, the model was crafted using ZBrush, Marmoset Toolbag, Marvelous Designer, and Unreal Engine 5, with XGen used to set up the character's hair. Additionally, the creator used Megascans and a collection of assets from the Unreal Engine Marketplace to build the environment Serious Link is seen exploring in the demo below:
"A huge shout-out to Akhil Chinnabathini for his incredible collaboration on tech art integration in Unreal, your efforts really gave the cape its dramatic weight," commented the creator. "To Chetan Verma for the rigging. I also want to thank Shiva Kumar for his invaluable support in navigating and troubleshooting XGen."
