The file which contains the source code for Far Cry was uploaded on the Internet.
The file called "Far Cry 1.34 Complete", which contains the source code, was uploaded to Archive by a user called Llaetha.ro. The source code is almost finished, and some users have even claimed that they were able to run the game after revising the game's source files.
The news about the leak was first shared on Twitter by Vincius Medeiros, and has since been widely shared across Reddit and other social media platforms. Although the code does not include all the title's patches, users said that someone could get a debug PC version of the game running on their hardware.
The code allegedly contains some .exe files but no Xbox code or no game assets. The users also shared that the code didn't compile without 332 errors.
The source code for Far Cry was uploaded on the website at the end of June, but it has still not been struck down by Ubisoft. There are still no comments from Ubisoft about the leak.
Far Cry, which was released exclusively on Microsoft Windows PCs in March 2004, was praised for its visuals, gameplay process, and the level of freedom given to players. The game was a financial success, selling more than 730,000 copies in its first four months and more than 2.5 million copies overall.
