Alexander Bulkin's latest scene looks like a perfect desktop wallpaper.
Take a five-minute break from your daily routine and attain the state of ataraxia by taking a proverbial walk in this gorgeous Meditation Garden, unveiled recently by 3D Environment/Prop Artist Alexander Bulkin.
Captivating the viewer with its lush vegetation, mesmerizing waterfalls, and stunning Middle Eastern/Asian architecture, the environment was made using Blender, ZBrush, Substance 3D software, Marmoset Toolbag, and Unreal Engine with the goal of making the scene "feel good and relaxing".
To bring the garden to life, the creator employed various techniques and tools such as vertex paint, edge decals, material functions, macro normal, World Space Mask for moss, RGB masking, and material displacement in Unreal Engine 5.3. As for the foliage, it was created using SpeedTree and Megascans assets.
Furthermore, Alexander has set up two distinct lighting scenarios for the scene, demonstrating how it looks during the day and in the dark of the night.
Here's the 2D concept from Eddie Mendoza that inspired the project:
