Samsung has announced two new monitors in the Odyssey series at gamescom. While the upgraded Odyssey Ark G97NC is certainly impressive, it's the Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC that attracts more attention.
“The world of gaming is constantly evolving, and our latest monitor technology is crucial for gamers to open new doors to adventure and perform their best. Samsung’s monitor leadership is further boosted by our newest Odyssey monitors, which unlock the ultimate level of immersion and create new experiences for gamers worldwide,” said Hoon Chung, EVP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
The Odyssey Neo G9 57” offers "the world's first" Dual Ultra-High-Definition (DUHD) screen that will take your gaming adventures to the next level. This curved 32:9 screen will immerse you in the game and let you forget about the world around you.
With this monitor, you'll get sharp contrast and less blooming thanks to the Quantum Matrix Technology. The Neo G9 provides 1,000 nit peak brightness, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. There is also AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for a lag-free picture.
You can connect the monitor with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, or USB.
This monster of a monitor is not cheap, as you might imagine, and will cost you $2,499.99 when it comes out in October.

The Odyssey Ark, a 55-inch 1000R curved gaming monitor mentioned by Samsung, has been upgraded based on gamers’ feedback to improve connectivity, convenience, and performance. It brings a 165Hz refresh rate to games and now also Samsung Multi View, which lets users see up to 4 inputs on the screen at once.
"The added Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) switch feature makes the Ark a single command station for a smooth multitasking experience across multiple devices. Users can now control all the devices connected to the monitor with a single mouse and keyboard setup."
It will be available for pre-order in September.
In addition, Samsung announced that Bethesda's upcoming space adventure Starfield will appear on the Samsung Gaming Hub on September 6 if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
