To learn more about lighting and the science behind it, 3D Artist Arthur Tasquin has created a series of renders featuring the same city scene in various styles and weather conditions. This project includes seven variants, exploring realistic and stylized scenarios: Sunset, Morning, Overcast, Blue Hour, Horror, Neon, and Foggy:

Additionally, Arthur Tasquin shared a behind-the-scenes video, explaining the workflow to deal with the amount of actors, level sequences, and sub-levels.

"Each lighting scenario has its own Level Sequence where I use Level Visibility tracks to load automatically the right sub-level and unload the rest. This saved me a lot of time as I wanted to make different changes for each camera angle and lighting scenario. When the setup is done, the only thing you need to do is open the right level sequence and work on it.

I also used extensively Level Instances, Movie Render Queue presets, and primitives to shape the shadows", commented the artist.

Arthur Tasquin has also revealed that he created a bunch of documentation and data for this project and would love to share it in a separate blog post if anyone is interested. Let him know what you think and check out his work on ArtStation here.
