After a short public beta period, RapidPipeline has been officially launched.
Following a week-long period of being available in free open beta, RapidPipeline, a platform that provides 3D Technical Artists with a suite of automated tools designed to streamline tedious data prep tasks, such as readying assets from various sources for multiple LODs, applications, or target devices, has been officially launched during the SIGGRAPH 2024 conference.
Developed over several years of R&D at the German Fraunhofer Institute, RapidPipeline's core 3D technology features highly efficient, custom-engineered, and extremely reliable algorithms. This technology has been rigorously tested with several large industry clients on over 4 million 3D models, including notable companies like Adobe, Shopify, and Adidas. Now, with the official launch of the RapidPipeline platform, the solution is finally becoming available to individuals and small studios through affordable licensing plans for small volumes.
"We started off with a small team, and we were looking to validate our solution on many 3D models, before promoting it further. Now, we believe it's finally ready to be used by every 3D creator out there who has tedious 3D data prep tasks to solve – no matter at which scale," comments Max Limper, the CEO at DGG, the company behind RapidPipeline.
"Our cloud-based SaaS platform is a super convenient tool, but if you want to process 3D models 100% locally, there are DCC plugins coming, and we already have a robust CLI tool for local batch processing – so you can process thousands of models in your own infrastructure, easily," Limper explains.
As the public beta finishes, the first official version of the platform introduces a couple of new features such as DCC conversion, automated QA, and a new settings interface that includes beginner and expert options, making it easy for beginners to get good results while at the same time allowing expert users to fine-tune their content pipelines.
On August 1, in parallel to SIGGRAPH, RapidPipeline will also launch online on ProductHunt, a platform for innovative new software products – where it got "hunted" by Alban Denoyel, founder of Sketchfab. To try RapidPipeline, you can join for free by clicking this link.
