Puzzles & Dialogues From This Survival Horror Inspired By Silent Hill & Resident Evil

Agate showcased more of what we can expect from Rootmare.

Rootmare is a survival horror inspired by classic horrors like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Dead Space. It's being developed by Agate studio with Unreal Engine 5. Recently, more clips have been showcased. Unlike the combat-focused showcase from last time, these new clips provide glimpses into the game's dialogues and puzzles. Let's take a look.

If you missed the article, in the game, you are a model named Nate who gets stranded on a remote tropical island. It used to be a haven for the entertainment and beauty industries, but it has become the "center of a deadly biological incident." As you struggle to find a way out in this labyrinth-like area, some dark secrets behind the truth of COSMIC’s experiments, which pose a threat to the existence of humanity, start to appear. Fight the horrific, monstrous plant-zombie hybrids, unravel the mystery behind all these abnormalities, and find out if there is anyone else surviving.

Accompanied by Nate is Alice, a "waifu" who has some unexpected orders for the protagonist, for example, asking for a cup of coffee from a coffee machine while Nate explores the gloomy area. But it's hard to resist, you know, so he surrendered:

Another clip showcases an incident where steam comes out to block your way, and all you need to do is unpack your bag to take out the valve handwheel to get it fixed:

There is also a mini-game resembling the Plumber, in which you turn the pipes to connect them and fix the power outage, along with some hard facts that fans should know about this game:

If you've enjoyed Rootmare's concept so far, don't hesitate to add it to your wishlist on Steam and follow the project on X/Twitter to stay updated.
