A Reddit user with the nickname hellodavidz admitted they occupied one of the tents, waiting for the sales to begin. According to the post, they united with friends to buy the graphics cards for personal use, not to resell them at a higher price.
"Hello everyone, I’m the guy that you guys are talking about in the second tent. And yes, we are buying it for our own use, no trades and no sells. We just don’t want to pay for that extra $ for a gaming card and yes we do have some times on our hands because we run a business. Good luck to everyone who are trying to get one," wrote one of campers.
The atmosphere outside the store is said to be friendly, and everyone is behaving politely. By January 27, there were about 10 tents in front of Micro Center, with roughly 24 people waiting for the sales to begin. At night, the temperature in the city dropped to 7°C (44°F), so I hope the people in the tents didn't forget to bring warm clothes.
