Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Agrees That PC Is Major Platform

"There are more players than ever playing on PC."

Capcom

While consoles are in a perpetual unofficial state of war, PC stays superior in many ways, taking over a huge chunk of the gaming audience. Alas, not every game comes to PC, trying to win players over, entice them to buy a console, but the platform is still perhaps the most important in the industry.

Monster Hunter Wilds' producer Ryozo Tsujimoto seems to agree. The game will be the first in the series to be released on consoles and PC simultaneously, and he hopes that this platform will bring more players to the franchise.

"There are more players than ever playing on PC, including in Japan," Tsujimoto told GamesRadar, "so we definitely see room for the series to capture new players who haven't tried it before if that's their chosen platform."

This is one of the reasons why Capcom introduced crossplay to Wilds, so "the choice is yours on which platform you want to play with, and then [you can just] go online and hunt with your friends."

The recent beta reached 463,798 concurrent players, according to GamesRadar, and I'm sure the PC launch helped with this.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be fully released on February 28 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
