Meat In Dragon's Dogma 2 Is Not CG, It's Actual Food

"It's okay to use expensive CG to represent meat, but we decided to spend the same amount of money on better quality meat."

You probably know how it feels when you see delicious food while playing. You immediately want to taste a slice of it, don't you?

Speaking of food, Hideaki Itsuno, Director of the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2, recently discussed the game and the design principles behind it in an interview with 4Gamer. When asked about the realistic meat that players recently saw in the cooking clip, the interviewer mentioned that it looked extremely delicious. Itsuno explained that there is a specific reason for that.

"The meat grilled at the camp is a live-action [video]," Itsuno shared (via PC Gamer). For several months, we had been holding a 'meeting about what's so interesting about camping' with the camping enthusiasts on our team, and one of them said, 'You can watch as many pictures as you want of people grilling meat.' This led to its introduction into the game."

Well, at least, now you know that it's not CG that makes you crave that piece of meat so bad, it's actually some real food.

"It's okay to use expensive CG to represent meat, but we decided to spend the same amount of money on better quality meat, so we decided on the current format," Itsuno added. "Each type of meat you can get in the game has a different image when grilled."

How surprising and awesome is that? Speaking of Dragon's Dogma 2, the game is set to release on March 22, 2024. You can buy or wishlist it on Steam.

Earlier, the developer of Dragon's Dogma 2 shared another interesting fact that the team was inspired by GTA 5 during the game development.
