Luxion Reveals KeyShot 11

The major update will come with new 3D paint and physics capabilities and a CMF management system.

Luxion has revealed KeyShot 11 and provided the first look at the updated version of its rendering and technical animation software. KeyShot 11 will offer new 3D paint and physics capabilities as well as a Colour Material Finish (CMF) management system.

The major update of the software will be released in February 2022, with all the new licenses being sold as subscriptions. Existing perpetual licenses will remain valid, however, users will not get access to new subscription-only features.

Among the new features in KeyShot 11, there is a rigid body dynamics system. According to Luxion, the new system will provide users with the ability to “animate falling, sliding and bouncing objects entirely in KeyShot”. However, soft body dynamics animation won't be available.

The update will also offer a new 3D painting system and CMF management. The users who will purchase the Pro edition will get access to a new KeyShot Web Viewer that will provide the opportunity to publish and share KeyShot files online as well as improved headless rendering.

Luxion also announced that the entry-level edition KeyShot HD will be replaced by a new KeyShot Personal Edition described as a “more basic version of KeyShot for freelancers and individual users”. The edition can be installed at one device at a time and the users won't be able to install add-on modules. For network rendering, the KeyShot Web Viewer will be required, instead.

The pricing and system requirements weren't disclosed yet. The current stable release, KeyShot 10.2, is available for 64-bit Windows 8+ and macOS 10.13+.
