Senior VFX Artist Jesse Henning will help you master the art of effect-making.
Every good video game needs great VFX to match, and if this is something you aren't confident about yet, this is your chance to learn with DoubleJump Academy's new workshop, where you will find out how to create real-time effects for games.
"This intensive workshop simulates a real game production environment. You'll work on a pre-existing project with gameplay logic, characters, props, and environments already in place. Your task? Create epic VFX for a hero moment."
In 6 weeks, you will learn about asset and tool creation, cinematic VFX, iterative workflows, advanced materials, VFX composition, industry-level VFX pipelines, gameplay VFX, VFX concepting, advanced Niagara systems, AAA-quality VFX practices, Houdini procedural asset workflows, and more.
To make your journey as productive as possible, Senior VFX Artist Jesse Henning will guide you through every step. He is a self-taught artist who now works for Wizards of the Coast at Atomic Arcade, "bringing the world of G.I. Joe and Snake Eyes to life."
Henning has worked on multiple titles, including Conan Exiles, Dune Awakening, and Destroy All Humans 2, so you will be in good hands, as he also had over a decade of filmmaking, 3D modeling/animation, and motion graphics experience before micing to game development.
The workshop, meant for mid- to advanced-level artists, starts on November 7 and features 6 weeks of pre-recorded lectures as well as mentor support. The price for Real-Time VFX for Games starts at $449 and can be split into several payments.
Moreover, DoubleJump Academy offers the educational version of Houdini and Nuke at a discounted rate.
