It makes working with color faster and brings a new GPU Performance Mode, lighting enhancements, and more.
Luxion has released KeyShot 2023.3, a new version of its 3D rendering software. It brings a new GPU Performance Mode, lighting enhancements, and changes to working with color.
Now, color is its own asset as color instances have been separated from the individual features and locations, like materials, environments, or image styles. "This means that when a color instance is updated or otherwise changed, all materials with that color instance will be updated because the materials now point to the same instance." To create a color, you need to drag and drop one from your library to the scene and give it a name in the color picker.
Moreover, you can now use a Multi-Color, "a list that points to different color instances, similar to how Multi-Materials work." Luxion also introduced the Color Mode to help you feel less distracted. It hides most of the features in the UI so you can focus on colors solely.
Finally, there is a new color library option called Natural Color Systems. It is based on the human perception of colors and doesn't rely on color mixing.

Another exciting change in KeyShot 2023.3 is a new Performance Mode when you're rendering with your GPU, which offers up to twice as much speed as before with the improved Scene Load, Realtime View Performance, and Render Output Performance.
In addition, the new ACES Image transform will add a movie-like look to scenes, complete with natural colors. According to the developer, it better preserves the hue of intense colors, such as brightly lit LEDs. To make your work easier, there is a new Light Solo Mode, an improved version of the existing function that allows you to preserve your lighting when working with regular objects and materials.
KeyShot Pro is available via a subscription for $1,188/year. Find the full list of changes here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
