Job Opportunity: Senior 3D Animator at MON Co., Creator of Web3

MON is the company behind Pixelmon, its flagship IP franchise, and MON Protocol, a cutting-edge Web3 platform.

MON Co., a development studio and publisher at the intersection of gaming, entertainment, and blockchain technology, is seeking applicants for the Senior 3D Animator position. You will work at a modern company involved in games, digital content, and transmedia storytelling, which is the force behind Pixelmon, its flagship IP franchise, and MON Protocol, a cutting-edge Web3 platform.

As a Senior 3D Animator, you will play a key role in bringing characters and creatures to life within our games, creating high-quality animations, rigging character models, and ensuring that animations are smooth and realistic. The company expects you to animate humanoid characters, creatures, props, vehicles, weapons, objects, etc., following the guidelines, amend animations from designers and developers, and stay on top of modern rigging tools.

What You Can Expect To Work On

  • Designing simple and intuitive control mechanisms;
  • Transferring blendshapes for characters;
  • Animating humanoid characters, creatures, props, vehicles, weapons, objects, etc;
  • Developing animation composites;
  • Amending animations as per instruction from designers and developers;
  • Staying on top of new tools and methods for rigging on animated projects;
  • Researching visual style, genre, and technologies to produce each individual project;
  • Collaborating with modelers and other artists and attending meetings with managers and directors to discuss ongoing projects;
  • Following design guidelines and feedback, asset naming conventions, and other technical constraints.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience as an animator in the gaming industry with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max. Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine.
  • Strong artistic skills with an eye for detail, movement, and timing.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical and artistic issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Previous experience with character rigging for diverse types of games (e.g., realistic, stylized).

Nice to haves:

  • Nice to have: Rigging experience for characters and props;
  • Nice to have: Using Motion Capture Data as inputs to produce high quality animations and applying motion capture to animation.
  • Nice to Have: Experience animating and/or rigging creatures
