Interactive Loading Screen & Other New Features In This Indie Stylish Action Game

MIGHTREYA, created by a former Devil May Cry developer, will be released later this year.

Solo Game Developer Wazen, who's working on an anime-inspired action game with stylized animations called MIGHTREYA, showcases an interactive loading screen that allows players to join a mini-game to pick up skill points instead of purely waiting while data loads when heading to the mission site.

If you missed our previous articles about the upcoming game from the developer of Assault Spy, MIGHTREYA is crafted in Unreal Engine and features cool fighting simulation. The game revolves around schoolgirl superhero Reya and her manager Nio, who embark on an exciting journey as Hero Content Creators, combating monstrous beings that emerge daily from another dimension. The game promises superhero battles with intuitive controls and quick target locking for fast-paced strikes and combos. There are 38 stages to explore and 24 enemy types, including powerful bosses.

As the game development enters its fourth year, the publisher 505 Games has some great news — the game will be released this year. Looking back at the development process, the solo developer has presented this one-minute video to show how the game has evolved over time:

Since we last reported about the game last July, various new features and mechanics have been shared on social media, like how some enemies and hidden objects can only be seen via Nio's camera, the power-up mode that allows players to be invincible for a certain period of time and increase the attack powers, the Monster Extermination Squad that fights along with players, Object Throwing that allows players to grab an item or an enemy and throw them just like throwing cannonballs, how timing matters for attacks, the photo mode to capture juicy moments as well as costume system that's requested by fans:

As a veteran who had worked on Devil May Cry series and then became solo, Wazen dives deep into the development in this interview with Automaton, talking about what sets MIGHTREYA apart from other action games, development priorities, the choice of publisher, and the support they received from English-speaking fans.

MIGHTREYA will be released on PC via Steam. If you haven't wishlisted it, don't hesitate to check it out here and follow the developer to receive more updates in the future.
