Indie Dev Reacts to Warner Bros. Delisting Their Game by Making it Free

A seven-year-old paid indie game is now being offered for free by its developer to maintain player access.

In a surprising twist of fate, indie game developer Owen Deery, known for his one-man studio Fire Face, has made his game Small Radios Big Televisions available for free on his website.

This drastic step comes after Deery was informed that Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of the game's publisher Adult Swim, will soon delist the game. It will cease to be available for purchase on both Steam and the PlayStation Store due to unspecified "business changes".

Small Radios Big Televisions is a compelling indie game that embodies the spirit of exploration and discovery. The title was first introduced to the gaming community in November 2016 and was received warmly for its unique approach and captivating narrative.

In Small Radios Big Televisions, you are invited to explore the intricate interiors of abandoned factories. These once-bustling industrial buildings now serve as the resting places for data cassettes. But these are no ordinary cassettes; each one contains a boundless virtual world waiting to be uncovered.

Although the game is set to be pulled within the next few weeks, Deery confirmed he will continue to receive royalties on any copies sold until it's officially delisted. Despite the situation, the developer has urged followers to remain calm, responding to a heated comment against Warner. Bros with a simple "Chill out."

As of now, players still have the opportunity to access the game. It's significant to mention that Deery is unsure if the game, once bought, will remain accessible indefinitely. He expressed via a tweet:

If you haven't tried this game yet, you can download it for free from Deery's site. Don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
