Houdini Guide: Lights In The Viewport

Check out a guide by Simon Verstraete on how to work with lights in Houdini.

Simon Verstraete posted a new video guide to working with lights in Houdini. This beginner-friendly tutorial will explain to you how to use the lights in the viewport. The artist talked about the basics of placing lights and setting up high-quality light modes. He also discussed different settings you can tweak for more detail of the lightning in the viewport.

"The video will only show rendering in real-time in the viewport. This way your models look nicer by default when working on a tool or simulation," noted the artist. "Nearing the end of the video I will give more tips, showing how to quickly render multiple frames of your setup."

These techniques are great for showing work in progress when working on procedural tools. Make sure to follow Simon on Twitter where he shares more Houdini stuff.
