Great news for Harry Potter fans: Warner Bros. is working on a sequel to the beloved Hogwarts Legacy.

There's not much detail yet, and there's only information about the fact that the sequel is in the works. In September, Warner Bros. Discovery's Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Wiedenfels stated that the sequel was one of the company's primary focuses: "Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road."

David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, said (via Variety): "We have known for some time that fans are looking for more things in this world, and so we're spending a lot of time thinking about that." He continued, sharing that the studio wants to bring Harry Potter fans an enjoyable experience with the new game based on the beloved franchise: "Our insights tell us that there are not huge distinctions between a younger version of a fan and an older version of a fan. They're just deep 'Harry Potter' fans, and we try to build authentic experiences to delight them."

The executive shared that some of the storytelling elements in the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy will be connected with the plot of the Harry Potter HBO series by Warner Bros. Television.

The first Hogwarts Legacy became one of the fastest-growing and best-selling games of 2023, exceeding the publisher's expectations. Fans spent more than 406 million hours playing it over two months after its release, and retail sales in Q1 2023 brought the company over $1 billion.
