Ghostwire: Tokyo Surpasses 4 Million Players

The inclusion of Game Pass appears to have attracted new players to the game.

Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have revealed that their action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo has achieved more than four million players across the globe.

Ghostwire: Tokyo was originally intended to be a PlayStation-exclusive game, but midway through its development, its developer Tango Gameworks was acquired by Microsoft. After a one-year exclusivity period, the game was finally released on Xbox and Game Pass.

As it was available on Game Pass from the very beginning, it seems that this contributed to a significant increase in the number of people who played and enjoyed the game. Assuming positive word-of-mouth continues, it's likely that the number of players will keep growing for some time.

If you're not familiar with the game, Ghostwire Tokyo is set in the streets of Tokyo, which have been inexplicably taken over by supernatural entities. However, unlike Tango's previous project, The Evil Within, Ghostwire Tokyo is primarily an action-adventure game. Players assume the role of a character with paranormal powers and must battle these spirits while also attempting to solve the mystery behind their sudden emergence.
