Ghost of Tsushima's standalone sequel is coming on October 2.
Ghost of Yōtei, the standalone sequel to the beloved 2020 action-adventure game, Ghost of Tsushima, will be released on October 2, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
This has been announced along with a brand new trailer, which offers a taste of what players can expect from the game, set in 1600s rural Japan in areas around Mount Yōtei. It shows the Yōtei Six, who took everything from protagonist Atsu to make her start this journey of revenge, the beautiful scenery of Ezo, Atsu's new weapons and a few allies, and a new gameplay mechanic that'll let you learn about the protagonist's past and have an idea about everything that was taken from her.
"In Ghost of Yōtei, we’ve built upon and evolved the way you explore the open world, offering even more freedom and variety than in Ghost of Tsushima," Andrew Goldfarb, Senior Communications Manager, wrote in the PlayStation blog.
Sucker Punch also announced that pre-orders for the game will start next week from May 2 at players' local time. There will be various editions available, from the $69.99 standard edition to the $79.99 Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition, which is priced at $249.99 and includes a digital copy of the game, all pre-order bonuses, and in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition. It also contains a replica of Atsu’s Ghost mask, a replica of Atsu’s sash, a replica Tsuba from Atsu’s katana, a pouch of coins with Zeni Hajiki instructions, and more.
