Get Free Houdini Tools From SideFX's Project Grot

The first two tools released are designed for generating procedural ruins and flesh.

Released last spring, Project Grot is an in-house tech demo created to highlight the potential of procedural generation in game development, showcasing its ability to offer both versatility and creativity. The focal point of the scene is an ancient cave illuminated by the fiery glow of molten lava, guiding the viewer on a journey through the depths of an otherworldly realm.

SideFX has started releasing custom Houdini tools specifically designed for Project Grot, accompanied by tutorials that explore the production techniques employed. With these resources, you can hopefully get a deeper understanding of how Houdini and Unreal Engine 5 can work together.

So far, two of these custom procedural tools have been made available to the public: the first for generating procedural ruins and the second for creating procedural flesh.

These Project Grot tools are available for free as Houdini .hip files and .hda files, which can be imported and edited in DCC applications that support Houdini, including Unreal Engine. Stay tuned for more, and access the Project Grot files by clicking this link.
