The real-time renderer has become even more effective.
Dimension 5 Techs has released D5 Render 2.9, the latest version of the real-time renderer, which introduces a lot of new features and fixes.
The biggest novelty is its terrain system. You can generate terrain directly in the software using a brush tool for sculpting and texture painting. "Easily apply a variety of preset heightmap resources and material templates with just one click, and combine with D5 Scatter to effortlessly craft diverse natural landscapes."
It has a variety of sculpting modes and sculpt brush settings. Moreover, the D5 Asset Library now has a new Terrain category with preset templates.
With this tool, you can assign different textures to different parts of the terrain (ground, slope, and peak) and adjust them however you like.
Finally, the system supports importing custom height maps to generate corresponding 3D terrain models based on the typographic relief and creating scattering on the terrain.

The developers have also added a Phasing Animation Template in the Video mode for quick visualization of the step-by-step building process. It can be used to create animations for building structure growth, architectural analysis, component installation demonstration, product animation, and landscape vegetation growth.
Its parameters include an animation controller that supports various motion settings, multiple properties, and an animation track in the timeline.

Moreover, Dimension 5 Techs has upgraded its AI Enhancer to Post-AI with a new AI Style Transfer feature, which supports one-click transfer to stylized and realistic styles without material or model adjustments.
Other than that, there are a bunch of new AI effects and optimizations to the existing ones.
Additionally, the random placement tool supports random size and rotation effects when continuously adding assets to make scattering more natural. Besides, the company added an asset info page to the Asset Library, an FPS Booster for Complex Geometry option to the Menu, and a voxel style to the Text to 3D feature.
D5 Render is available for free with limitations, and its full power can be realized with Pro and Teams plans.
