Great Simulation of a Human Running Through Water Made in UE5

CreaNavi showcased the power of Unreal Engine 5's Niagara Fluids.

Take a look at this simulation, showcased recently by the CreaNavi team, in which a person runs in shallow water, which was created in the Niagara Falls plugin for Unreal Engine 5.

The visualization looks highly realistic, as it features not only water wave physics but also the fluid's interaction with a person's body. The animation shows two variants of water state – a more moving and lumpy water along with an almost calm water state with barely any waves. Both water simulations react to a person's movements, as we can see splashes and waves visualized with a high level of realism.

The Niagara Falls plugin, made by Daniel Pearson and Devon Penney, lets you create smoke, splashes, and water effects in your projects directly within the engine. It adds 2D and 3D grid simulation to Unreal Engine and contains templates for a wide range of realistic effects, including fire, smoke, pools of water, splashes, and shallow water.

With this plugin, you can also build your own grid-based simulation, as it includes the building blocks. Modules can define grids' resolution and modify their content over time. The plugin also includes algorithms for dissipating and advecting grid contents and utilities to copy grid data into Volumetric Render Targets.
