Freelance 3D Character Modeler SangWook Kang continues to impress us with his outstanding digital characters, presenting a brand-new model featuring a painterly feel and strong fantasy vibes.

Meet Nightfell, a highly detailed portrait of a medieval knight, whose tattered cloak, damaged cuirass, and scarred face tell a vivid story about the many battles he's endured. Based on this 2D illustration shared by Pinterest user eaddy417, the model was created using a combination of ZBrush, 3ds Max, and Substance 3D Painter and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

"This is a piece of my practice work," SangWook notes. "Instead of following the original art exactly, I incorporated some of my own ideas into certain elements. I kept putting off the body work, but I finally got it done this time."
