Check Out This Custom Ladder Node In Godot

UnderdogDen will include this tool in his free, open-source Godot project.

Looking to create a ladder mechanic where the distance between each bar affects player movement, Godot Developer UnderdogDen decided to implement the ladder as a custom node.

To get the height to display in meters, the developer added 3D text and made it stick to the top of the CSG node's size Y value. The measurement is just another custom CSG node, showing measurements for X, Y, and Z in the game.

This tool will be included in the next NOSHOT First Person Controller's update, UnderdogDen's open-source Godot project written in C# that includes standard first-person movement mechanics, allows the player to crouch, sprint, and slide, and supports stairs and steps:
