Check Out New Tools In Maxon One Winter Release 2024

Unleash the holiday magic in digital art with the latest product updates for Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Redshift, and Red Giant.

Maxon, the developer behind industry-leading software for 2D and 3D design, motion graphics, visual effects, and more, has rolled out updates across its Maxon One product suite with new features in Cinema 4D, Redshift, ZBrush and ZBrush for iPad, and Red Giant. Whether sculpting gingerbread cookies in ZBrush or crafting snowfalls in Cinema 4D, these updates are sure to fulfill a few user wishlists and get everyone in the festive spirit.

As a part of new Pro Projects, 3D Artist Patrick 4D teamed up with Maxon to bake some digital treats for the holiday season: a set of gingerbread cookies crafted in ZBrush. Available now in both the trial and full versions of ZBrush, including ZBrush for iPad, artists can customize the cookies with their own sweet decorations and incorporate them into larger scenes.

The cross-platform compatibility for ZBrush creations continues to see enhancements with new GoZ compatibility for sending ZBrush sculpts directly to the 2025 versions of Maya and 3ds Max.

ZBrush for desktop now offers faster Redshift rendering with denoising and separate AOV passes for shadows, reflections, and more, making composites in Photoshop easier. The updated Anchor Brush also introduces a new Bend mode, allowing users to easily pose characters using two anchor points. Redshift gets further improvements to Toon rendering, faster renders in Cinema 4D as well, and support for fully three-dimensional contours.

Cinema 4D 2025.1 introduces a completely new Boolean generator that allows artists to easily create complex shapes from animated elements and streamline the modeling process. The new algorithm is fast and robust, allowing to work with complex geometry while maintaining high frame rates, even with detailed animated booleans. The flexible UI now supports combining multiple inputs and operations into a single boolean object, a major upgrade from the previous limit of just two inputs.

Cinema 4D now offers precise control over particle behavior with custom properties and the Particle Node Modifier, part of the GPU-accelerated Unified Simulation toolset, providing more flexibility. Users will also benefit from quality-of-life improvements, such as enhanced USD import/export and better XRef performance for smoother collaboration. Finally, Maxon One's templating toolkit Red Giant 2025.2 introduces new updates in Maxon Studio and Universe, making it easy for content creators to level up their videos with on-trend effects, transitions, and motion templates. With six new Pixel Dither effects, you can effortlessly capture the nostalgic pixel art look of retro gaming and animation.
