Environment Artist B.O.W. shared a new piece of their grand project.
Have a look at this beautiful mossy forest created in Unreal Engine 5 by an environment artist Feng Qin, also known as B.O.W. on ArtStation. Realistic scenes and lighting are the artist's specialty, and this piece shows it exceptionally well.
The creator used Lumen's hardware ray tracing and Nanite's virtual meshes to achieve the feeling of the woods, first in the morning and then at dusk.
B.O.W. adjusted assets from Megascans and then added moss using SpeedTree. For now, the forest is static, but the artist is planning to breathe more life into it later.
Nordic Moss Forest is the latest part of a WIP project. The creator gradually improves the scene, adding more details to the leaves, the moss, and other parts of the environment. You can track Feng Qin's progress on ArtStation.
