Elia Luongo has reproduced the beauty of nature in 3D using photogrammetry and Unreal Engine 5.
CG Artist Elia Luongo, whose specialty lies in nature-inspired digital environments, continues the series of projects dedicated to various trees by presenting The Pine, a breathtaking pine lake inspired by a real-life Voorste Goorven location in North Brabant, Netherlands.
To set up the scene, the artist utilized SpeedTree in combination with scans and atlases from RealityCapture to model the foliage, and Unreal Engine 5's Procedural Content Generation (PCG) framework to scatter the meshes. The scene was then finalized with UE5's Path Tracer, a hardware-accelerated rendering mode that allows one to achieve photorealistic renders with minimal additional setup.
