Breaking Down the Birch Grove Project Made In V-Ray & 3ds Max

The artist behind the Birch Grove project Dax Pandhi shared an extensive breakdown of the work.

Dax Pandhi, the author behind Birch Grove, shared an extensive breakdown of the project. In this breakdown, Dax shows the entire process from constructing the environment, to working on water shaders, to setting up the lighting.

Dax has 20 years of experience in both CGI and programming, was a co-recipient of the IAWTV award for best visual effects, and was awarded Microsoft's Most Valuable Professional title for 3 years in a row. Now Dax has an extensive background in User Experience development for complex software.

"I've long wanted to create an image like this that could have an expansive scale. I whittled away at this over a few free hours at night over a couple of weekends. Like with my previous image, Shishkin remains a major influence. The shattered hill was inspired by Galicia," comments Dax on the project.

We highly encourage you to check out the full breakdown by visiting Dax's ArtStation page. Also, don't forget to join our new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
