Pau Homs shared his experiments with styles.
Pau Homs, Lighting Artist at Disney Animation, put a new coat of paint on an animation thanks to Blender's Compositor, turning it into a scene that could have been taken right from Spider-Verse. In the video above, he showed a brief overview of the nodes used for the project.
"I used the depth to get a matte separating the character from the set. Ideally I would have used a Cryptomatte for that but the picker is still a bit buggy still in the viewport and I went for a depth mask," he commented.
Inspired by Blender 4.3, Homs also gave the same scene a more "watercolor-ish" look. He said that doing lighting and compositing at the same time in the viewport together with rendering with EEVEE "changed [his] workflow forever."
