Solo Game Developer tinybugbot, known for specializing in visual effects and hard-surface models, has recently switched gears from mechanical bugs to something more appetizing, unveiling a lifelike and delicious-looking 3D model of a fried egg.
Fully procedural, the model was created in Houdini using Copernicus, the software's 2D and 3D GPU image processing framework that enables real-time image manipulation within a 3D space. According to tinybugbot, the egg was cooked with multiple Tile Pattern COP nodes featuring circular shapes and seasoned with Noise and Distort nodes to achieve the final result.
Previously, tinybugbot offered a handy technique for visualizing displacement effects directly in the viewport with Houdini.
