Salman shares a fresh stunner set up with shaders.
3D Artist Salman, known and loved by the digital art community for his splendid lo-fi animations depicting anime-style cityscapes and interiors, has recently escaped the confines of the digital version of Tokyo he has built, expanding the portfolio with a glorious new scene depicting a gorgeous stylized shader-based ocean with a flock of seagulls circling majestically above its unruly NPR waves.
True to form, the creator set up the sequence using Blender, a free and open-source 3D modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX software. Knowing Salman, it's highly likely that a behind-the-scenes breakdown demo of the animation is going to be released sometime soon, so we highly encourage you to follow the artist on Twitter so as not to miss any updates.
As some of you already know, Salman is most certainly in the upper echelon when it comes to stylized 3D liquids. Just recently, the author treated us to an insightful behind-the-scenes demo of the Ramen Noodles project, demonstrating how the iconic Japanese dish's broth and ingredients looked during production:
And prior to that, Salman showcased a fantastic rain animation set up for a stylized street scene using Blender:
