3D Artist Vivek Yadav has recently expanded his collection of realistic-looking digital environments by unveiling Wood House, an atmospheric rainy scene with serene vibes inspired by the works of Kazuo Oga, a legendary Art Director and Background Artist who worked on numerous Ghibli classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Spirited Away.
To set up the scene's centerpiece, the house itself, Vivek utilized Maya for modeling and a single 4K wood trimsheet in Substance 3D Painter for texturing. Additionally, a Z-Up shader was used to add the moss and some of the other smaller details, while the Ultra Dynamic Sky add-on was employed for the sky and the weather effects. Besides that, the author leveraged ZBrush, Megascans assets, Quixel Bridge, Quixel Mixer, and Unreal Engine 5 to bring the scene to life.
