It was a big day for the Helldivers 2 community when Sony reversed its controversial requirement to link PlayStation Network accounts. However, the game remains unavailable for purchase on Steam in 177 countries and territories where PSN is not accessible.
According to Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt, he's still in discussions with partners from Valve and PlayStation to solve the issue.
"I'm speaking to our partners at PlayStation and Valve and pushing for it to be undone. Getting the account linking took a herculean effort – but I won't rest in my desire to have it available everywhere."
Pilestedt shared this update in the shooter's Discord channel, emphasizing his commitment to restoring Helldivers 2 sales in 177 regions where the game was previously unavailable.
The reasons behind the continued suspension of Helldivers 2 sales in regions without PSN registration options remain undisclosed.
Recently, Helldivers 2 was removed from Steam in 177 regions following a controversy related to Sony's requirement for a mandatory PSN account link to play the game on PC. Sony later changed its mind due to significant backlash from players.
