Imagine the smell of the barrel after each shot.
While realistic digital weapons are undeniably impressive, it's hard for them to truly stand out as unique amidst the abundance of 3D guns uploaded to the internet each day. However, every so often, someone manages to take a familiar concept and completely flip it on its head, presenting something so uniquely peculiar that it's bound to leave a lasting impression in your memory.
Such is the case with Tram Drey, a Freelance Artist and Designer, who recently came up with a bonkers idea to imagine a scoped double-barrel shotgun fashioned entirely from crab of all things. The fruits of this unusual concept are depicted in the image above.
Throwing all gunsmithing tenets into the garbage bin, Tram's firearm flaunts one-of-a-kind chitin textures both inside and out, rejecting reliable yet boring metal, wood, and fiberglass. According to the artist, this bizarre boomstick was brought to life using Blender and is currently work-in-progress, with Tram planning to incorporate even more crustacean-inspired details before revealing the final version.
It's worth mentioning that this isn't the first time we've had the pleasure of highlighting Tram's amazing Blender projects. In early January, shortly after Disney's Steamboat Willie entered the public domain, the artist amazed us by revealing a 3D model of Mickey Mouse and offering it for free download. You can find more details and download the model by clicking this link.
