A New Prince Of Persia Game Is Coming To Steam Later This Year

Created by the developer of Dead Cells, this new addition to the Prince of Persia franchise is reported to be a Roguelite.

Exciting news for gaming enthusiasts as Ubisoft and Evil Empire, the developers behind the popular Dead Cells which sold over 10 million units in 2023, are reportedly teaming up to create a new addition to the Prince of Persia franchise. The upcoming game, The Rogue Prince of Persia, is set to launch in Early Access on Steam later this year.

According to the report from Insider Gaming, the Rogue Prince of Persia, which has been under development for the past four years, is a new Roguelite that will be updated regularly for free and developed over time according to community feedback.

You might be as surprised as we are about the duo of Ubisoft and Evil Empire. The partnership was said to have been born out of a conversation between the two parties at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in 2019, not long after Dead Cells was established.

This announcement follows Evil Empire’s recent decision to stop creating content for Dead Cells and shift focus to other projects.

As for the much-anticipated Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, Ubisoft revealed in November 2023 that the game had reached an ‘Important Milestone’, however, we received very little news related to the game afterward.

Despite the buzz it has generated within the gaming industry, an official announcement about the game has yet to be made by either Ubisoft or Evil Empire.
