Environment Artist, LEGO Fortnite at Epic Games

Today, we are growing the team that is forging the first adventures in LEGO Fortnite, blending the engaging and welcoming Fortnite universe with the creativity and playfulness of LEGO. Epic Games is searching for a highly talented and creative Environment Artist to join our team in building some of the best-looking environments and props for LEGO Fortnite. Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong artistic ability, bringing with them a strong understanding of form, function, and detail, the skill to interpret concept art, plus have the technical skills to bring their work to life in Unreal Engine 5. Artists are required to be versatile and build ideally both organic and hard surface assets.

What we're looking for:

  • Highly skilled in relevant software, 3ds Max, Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush, Substance, etc.
  • Passionate about LEGO and experience using LDD (Lego Digital Designer), Stud.io or equivalent
  • Solid communicator with the ability to work between disciplines
  • A desire to work with complex and high-detail models
  • Great texturing skills and experience with PBR & materials
  • Ability to take 2D concept art to completion
  • Ability to provide feedback to outsourcers
  • Complex, technical shader knowledge and background are a plus

Concept Artist at FromSoftware

You will follow the core game concept in order to create 2D images for environments, objects, and characters and create various designs for in-game imagery.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Concept Artist (able to draw environments/scenery, and design the game world setting based on an understanding of the core concept)
  • Either a graduation certificate from university (graduate school), or 10 years work experience relating to art or graphic design. (Any period of time studying art or graphic design at school may be included under work experience.)

Senior VFX Artist at Remedy Entertainment

Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control, Quantum Break, Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Death Rally, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a Senior VFX Artist to work on the highly anticipated remake of Max Payne.

As a Senior VFX Artist you will proactively implement video game special effects, following the project’s artistic direction and production deadlines. You have experience creating high-quality effects and optimizing them. You enjoy taking on responsibilities and are keen to coach other teammates. 

What you bring to the role:

  • You are an experienced VFX Artist, with at least one shipped AAA title/project or equivalent work in a related field. 
  • You have experience using industry-standard 3D content creation tools (Houdini, Maya, 3DSMax, Substance, Photoshop, etc.) and you are knowledgeable of animation principles.  
  • You can interpret and transform abstract ideas into compelling effects. 
  • You know how to give feedback and relay and address notes from art direction. 
  • You can take constructive feedback from publishers, directors, leads and/or other team members and channel it into improving the product. 
  • You know how to work within a managed production environment with time management, schedules, prioritization of work and related organizational needs. 
  • You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas, mentoring as well as learning from others. 
  • You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and you can communicate and present your ideas in a clear way. As a team member, you are dedicated towards a friendly and inclusive work environment. 

Lighting Artist at Crytek

Crytek is looking for a Lighting Artist to join the Hunt: Showdown team in our Frankfurt Studio.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience lighting for next-gen games on PC and console hardware.
  • Experience with and a good working knowledge of the limitations and expectations of next-generation hardware.
  • Excellent art sense (e.g. knowledge of composition, color, lighting, etc).
  • Solid understanding of the basic theory of light propagation and light-material interaction.
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines to meet the project’s specific needs.
  • Capable of working both as a member of a development team and individually with minimum supervision.
  • Must have the ability to conceptualize, present, and execute ideas within a schedule, while actively participating in technical and artistic problem-solving.
  • Ability to quickly understand custom toolsets and deliver assets within the confines of real-time engine constraints and programming demands.
  • Organized approach to problem-solving and time management.
  • Good English communication and writing skills.

UI Technical Artist at Gearbox Software
