Senior Technical Artist & UE Generalist at Piomotion

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Artist & Unreal Engine Generalist with a technical understanding of MetaHuman, motion capture systems, high-end rendering, Blueprints, and project structuring in Unreal Engine. 

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Unreal Engine, with expertise in troubleshooting engine bugs, troubleshooting MetaHuman issues, and rendering workflows. They should know the 3D character creation process (both traditional and Metahuman-based), knowledge of Perforce-based workflows, and have experience with VFX in Unreal Engine.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Unreal Engine in a technical role.
  • Strong expertise in Metahumans, familiarity with motion capture systems, motion capture retargeting, and animation workflows.
  • Deep understanding of character creation workflows, including both traditional DCC pipelines and Custom Metahuman development.
  • Advanced Blueprint scripting knowledge for workflow automation and tool development.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline and how to maximize visual quality.
  • Highly organized, with experience handling large-scale cinematic project structuring and data ingestion.
  • Strong proficiency in Perforce and other version control systems.
  • Problem-solving mindset, able to debug complex technical issues in motion capture, animation, Unreal Engine bugs, rendering, and pipeline integration.

Senior Principal Technical Artist at Riot Games

As a senior principal technical artist on Central Creative, you will drive the vision for optimizing Riot’s creative pipelines to leverage shared development at the company scale, and help identify the largest opportunities for efficiency gains through technology and process. Working with leaders across the company, you will establish core future-facing workflows and a pipeline vision driven by product needs, guide ethical and effective use of AI tools, and establish a path forward to deliver these features to creatives everywhere.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience as a technical artist or rendering engineer who has deep Digital Content Creation and Tools
  • Development Knowledge in games or related industries
  • Experience building strategic visions and working within leadership in large organizations
  • Capability to act as an ambassador between art and engineering
  • Mastery in at least one industry-established game engine (e.g. Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, or Cry Engine) or a mature proprietary engine that supports AAA games at scale
  • Experience with and commitment to building long-term maintainable, testable, portable, easy-to-use, and stable systems

Senior Environment Artist at Epic Games

Epic is looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join the Quixel team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for collaborating with a wide range of artists, engineers, and other developers to develop large-scale, procedural, real-time worlds to a high visual quality. This role requires a solid understanding of general real-time world-building from an artistic and technical perspective, where the primary objective will be focused on constructing incredible worlds.

What we're looking for:

  • Highly experienced environment artist with specialization in natural environment creation
  • Great artistic eye for nature
  • Solid understanding of real-time world-building techniques and best practices
  • Deep technical skills within Unreal Engine related to real-time games (PCG or similar experience is a plus)
  • Has experience shipping at least one game in Unreal Engine

Principal Technical Artist: Animation at Rockstar Games

You will design, develop, and support animation tools and pipelines in both DCC and standalone environments. You will also develop automated solutions to process data without requiring user input, provide thorough and thoughtful feedback through code reviews and mentorship, and collaborate with the Runtime and Animation teams to push engine features forward. You will write clear documentation for the tools and workflows you create and help troubleshoot and diagnose unexpected issues affecting animators.

Skills

  • Experience mentoring more junior team members.
  • A strong understanding of coding UI using PySide or PyQt, including the use of advanced features.
  • A strong understanding of the underlying math that 3D animation systems utilize.
  • A strong understanding of software engineering concepts and patterns.

Senior Concept Artist – EA Sports FC at Electronic Arts

At EA SPORTS FC, Concept Artists play an important role in shaping the game's visual target. Their work serves as the visual building blocks for environments, characters, lighting, and props. Working closely with the Art Director, they interpret creative briefs and explore original ideas, creating artwork that sets the style and mood of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong drawing and ideation skills, with a specialization in concept design.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, costuming, physical settings, and historical references.
  • Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture, and movement.
  • Ability to draw from written briefs.
  • Ability to read and interpret scripts, discuss cinematic team requirements, and be a strong visual partner in storyboard creation.
  • Understanding of cinematic camera and cinematic language, including camera angles, camera movements, and editing techniques. The artist should be familiar with the visual language of cinema, including the use of lighting, color, and composition to create mood, establish character, and convey emotion.
  • Have a solid understanding of architectural elements and the ability to design realistic environments. This involves having a deep knowledge of various architectural styles, structures, and materials.
  • Understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, and spatial awareness.
  • Skilled in technical drawing.
  • Knowledge of the game development processes.
  • Ability to create final renders of the concept that can be used as VTARs. 

Sr. Concept Artist (Characters) at Santa Monica Studio

You’ll design characters, creatures, props, production callouts, high-level concept art, color scripts, marketing materials, and other visual guides as needed to support the development team. By combining the goals of game design, art direction, and technical considerations, you’ll help create industry-defining characters. Part of your role includes researching and gathering relevant reference material for each task while also building strong creative and collaborative partnerships across disciplines to further develop in-game characters, visual language, and the rule sets of fantasy-based worlds.

Requirements:

  • Strong command of foundation art skills (drawing, painting and rendering, material indication, perspective, composition, color theory, design, anatomy, and 2D and 3D design techniques)
  • Strong anatomy/creature skills with the ability to design and render realistic believable fantasy-based creatures and characters using contemporary industry standard tools and techniques
  • Strong ideation, brainstorming, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Photoshop with an emphasis on drawing, painting, and image-making
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills. This entails collaborating with the Production group to coordinate task lists to ensure assignments are progressing well according to schedules, objectives, and overall project goals
  • Familiarity with video game product development and the fundamentals of 3D packages
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or relevant curriculum or equivalent skillset
